In a rare move, the game utilized two different engines. The single-player campaign, developed by Danger Close, runs on a modified Unreal Engine 3, while the multiplayer, crafted by DICE , utilizes the Frostbite Engine.

Developed in consultation with actual Tier 1 Operators , the single-player campaign focuses on authenticity in its gear, dialogue, and mission structure.
